Shu Yang grew up in a small Pu-erh tea growing village in Jinggu, Yunnan. Her family has lived in the region since the 1500s and began cultivating Pu-erh tea in the 1700s. Shu moved to Ashland, Oregon in 2009, where she attended Southern Oregon University, earning a B.S. in accounting followed a few years later by an MBA. Shu loves and is proud of her family and the Pu-erh tea-growing culture of her region, which inspired her to found a company to import tea from her family's farm in the Jinggu mountains, handcrafted by her dad, hence the name of the company, My Dad’s Tea.
