About Us

The Northwest Tea Festival is the primary initiative of the Puget Sound Tea Education Association, a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Seattle, Washington. First held in 2008, the Northwest Tea Festival is a unique gathering of tea lovers, aficionados, providers, experts, and consumers. The festival is planned and executed by volunteers and a small staff, all of whom are passionate about the world of tea and tea culture. Over the two day long festival, tea is discussed, dissected, tasted, debated, amplified, and acquired. Festival attendees have opportunities to sample dozens of teas provided by vendors and they are able to learn about different aspects of tea and tea culture in stage presentations, workshops, and at the Tea Bar.

The primary mission of the tea festival is to connect people and enrich lives through tea, by providing a diverse range of educational and cultural experiences.

Most of the people involved with the festival, including vendors, presenters, and visitors, are from the greater Puget Sound region, but there are always some people and companies from out of state and even from outside of the United States.

receives honor at
World Tea Expo

On June of 2018 the Northwest Tea Festival was honored during the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas with an award for the Best Grassroots Education Campaign. This award was an acknowledgement of all the hard work and countless hours our volunteers have contributed to create one of the premier educational events for tea in the United States. It was great to be honored this way by the tea industry and other tea educators.
